DROID RAZR in Purple will debut in the coming weeks with 16 GB on-board memory and gives customers a third stylish option from which to choose. Regardless of color – classic Black, pristine White or Purple, the DROID RAZR is equipped with the same great features that let customers search the Web or download more than 300,000 Android Market™ apps at breakneck speeds on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network. This smartphone is a marathon runner with enough endurance to let customers talk on the phone for over 21 hours straight on a single charge. It’s the longest-lasting smartphone on the block, and at just 8.99 mm, the device is still impossibly thin. The DROID RAZR MAXX comes equipped with 32 GB of total memory and will be $299.99 with a new two-year customer agreement.

CradlePoint today announced an important new addition to its family of business continuity solutions for the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Network. CradlePoint has received LTE Certification from Verizon for CradlePoint’s fully-integrated 4G LTE failover solutions for existing multi-WAN CPE routers and new network installs in distributed enterprise locations.

Designed from the ground up to provide fixed-location network connectivity for businesses, CradlePoint’s retail failover solutions integrate 3G/4G LTE modems to provide the performance, reliability, and security required for point-of-sale (POS) transactions and the growing set of high-bandwidth retail cloud computing applications providing enhanced customer service. CradlePoint’s integrated business series router (the ARC MBR1400LE) provides a modular, flexible approach for business customers to utilize the ‘blazingly fast’ Verizon 4G LTE network.

CradlePoint’s integrated business series adapter (the ARC CBA750LE) in “IP Pass-through” mode enables a high-performance LTE failover solution for practically any dual-WAN CPE router (including Cisco, Juniper, SonicWALL and others) currently in use in retail stores, quick-service restaurants, and branch office locations. Offering a dual-mode 3G/4G connection enables a single solution to be deployed at all company locations, leveraging 3G in locations where the Verizon 4G LTE network is not yet available.

For new locations, temporary situations, or applications that require isolation from the corporate network, the CradlePoint integrated ARC series router can serve as a primary connection enabling quick and easy deployment of a business-grade network.

Integrated Routers Provide Business-Grade Performance, Reliability and Security
Performance: CradlePoint’s integrated ARC series routers come standard with external high-gain antennas that optimize throughput and reduce latency, especially in poor reception areas.
Reliability: CradlePoint integrated solutions are designed for 24/7 reliability with improved heat dissipation for longevity, enhanced RF (Radio Frequency) engineering for better reception, and employs CradlePoint’s modem health management features to improve modem stability.
Security: In addition to LAN connections that are protected with advanced WiFi encryption, LAN Segmentation, and vLAN capabilities; the wireless modem is integrated into the router, secure from theft or unauthorized use.

Wireless Access for Failover, Primary and Alternate Network Connections
The CradlePoint integrated ARC series adapter provides a “drop-in” 3G/4G network failover solution that can be added as an overlay on top of existing network infrastructure to enable continuous uptime.

The CradlePoint integrated ARC series router provides an easy-to-install, one-box solution for wired primary connections and wireless failover in new network installations, temporary locations, or for applications where an alternate network, off the main corporate network, is desired. For example, the ability to partition the router to create multiple networks, both public (customer WiFi) and private (POS devices, 3rd party applications, employee laptops, etc.), to simplify PCI compliance.
The modular configuration enables great flexibility in primary connection, failover connections and load-balancing situations.

Wilson Electronics announced the availability of the company’s 4G LTE 700 signal booster, built to improve the performance of any LTE device operating on Verizon Wireless’TM 700 MHz 4G network.

With a suggested retail price of $359.95, the Wilson 4G LTE 700 is the most affordable consumer 4G booster available. And unlike other 4G boosters on the market, Wilson’s feature very fast automatic oscillation sensing technology and auto-shutdown, as well as cell tower proximity detection and auto-shutdown, in addition to other cell site protection safeguards. These features make it the safest consumer 4G signal booster available.

It also features the highest signal gain for a consumer booster at 70 dB—for maximum coverage area indoors. The results are reliable connections where before there was weak signal or no signal, and faster data transfer speeds.

The 4G LTE 700 features separate adjustable gain controls – one for the uplink (device- to-tower communication), and another for the downlink (tower-to-device communication). These gain controls allow the unit’s gain, or signal amplification level, to be optimized for its specific location. This also simplifies the installation process by allowing for more flexibility in the correct placement of the booster’s interior and exterior antennas.

Got a work-hard, play-hard person to shop for? DROID XYBOARD 10.1 is Business Ready — optimized for workplace productivity — and includes a Motorola Stylus for hand-writing notes or emails. Or someone who wants to stay entertained from wherever they are? DROID XYBOARD 8.2 is optimized for entertainment, and even features 2.1 adaptive virtual surround sound with a digital subwoofer that perfectly complements the wide-viewing-angle display that shows you Netflix movies in HD.

Whichever tablet you choose, both have brilliant, widescreen displays with Corning Gorilla Glass for scratch resistance and have been enhanced to be brighter and more vibrant. A coating of water-repellent nanoparticles makes them resistant to accidental spills and splashes. The tablets are lighter than a paperback book with edges that are designed to make them easier to hold. Plus, they’re thinner than an AAA battery thanks to magnesium-reinforced bodies with aluminum housing. DROID XYBOARD 10.1 and DROID XYBOARD 8.2 feature the speed of Verizon Wireless 4G LTE and the power of dual-core 1.2 GHz processors and 1 GB of RAM.

And if you’re looking for a smartphone that stands out from the rest, the world’s thinnest 4G LTE smartphone – DROID RAZR by Motorola – is available in white for a limited time. Impossibly thin, DROID RAZR packs the power of a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and sports a 4.3” Super AMOLED Advanced display with qHD resolution. It’s not only beautiful but packs the latest and greatest in software innovations from Motorola including MotoCast and Smart Actions.

All three products are launching this month with Verizon Wireless, and will be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich next year.

Panasonic announced the Toughbook 53, a 14” High Definition LED display, semi-rugged notebook. Starting at only 5.6 pounds and delivering up to 10 hours of battery life, the Toughbook 53 provides mobile professionals, such as inspectors and claims adjusters, a highly reliable and versatile device that delivers high performance computing. The latest in the line of products that created the semi-rugged category, this new notebook is the first Toughbook device offering optional 4G LTE mobile broadband and a host of other features designed to improve productivity and maximize return on investment.

The Toughbook 53 is powered by a second generation Intel i5 or i3 processor and maintains the ruggedness Panasonic’s customers have appreciated with the current semi-rugged line. The Toughbook 53 is designed to survive 30” drops on six faces, features a spill-resistant keyboard and passes nine MIL-STD-810G tests. The Toughbook 53 is also the first Panasonic notebook to support a high definition LED display and offers an optional 2-800 nit sunlight-viewable Panasonic CircuLumin™ touchscreen plus an adjustable backlit emissive keyboard, making the Toughbook 53 the ideal candidate for use in any lighting condition. Panasonic has also increased the size of the touchpad by 25% while giving it multi touch with zoom and scroll capabilities. The Toughbook 53 also offers USB 3.0, VGA, HDMI and an SDXC slot for even greater flexibility.

Embedded Wireless Connectivity
The Toughbook 53 offers a variety of embedded wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, optional Bluetooth® 2.1 and Gobi2000™ 3G mobile broadband technology from Qualcomm. The 53 is also the first member of the Toughbook family to offer embedded support for 4G LTE networks, with certifications coming later this year.

Integrated Options for Mission-Critical Computing
The Toughbook 53 also delivers an optional dual antenna pass-through for in-vehicle use in passenger cars and light-duty trucks, perfect for professionals whose vehicles regularly serve as mobile offices.

At 8:10 p.m. EST yesterday, Verizon Wireless ceased online orders of iPhone 4 to existing customers and ended the most successful first day sales in the history of the company.

“This was an exciting day,” said Dan Mead, president and chief executive officer for Verizon Wireless. “In just our first two hours, we had already sold more phones than any first day launch in our history. And, when you consider these initial orders were placed between the hours of 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., it is an incredible success story. It is gratifying to know that our customers responded so enthusiastically to this exclusive offer — designed to reward them for their loyalty.

“I am proud of our employees who worked tirelessly to strengthen and scale our systems, enabling unprecedented customer orders through our website. Overall, it was a very good day,” he added.

Mead also said customers will have another opportunity at being among the nation’s first to own an iPhone 4 on the Verizon Wireless network.

The general market launch of the iPhone 4 on the Verizon Wireless network will occur on February 10. The company will open its more than 2000 Verizon Wireless Stores at 7 a.m. It will also be available at all Apple store locations, Best Buy, select Wal-Mart stores, and on-line at verizonwireless.com and apple.com.

Verizon is not wasting a chance to hit back at AT&T, with its new iPhone 4 ad it makes clear that for the first time iPhone users will be able to have a decent conversation without any drop calls. The phrase “I can here you now” will hunt down AT&T for a long time and Verizon will enjoy its better voice coverage, but could get trapped into a fight over the data speed, which is said to be slower than AT&T, So the fight has just begin…. In the end the only one benefiting from this fight is the customer
