Yet another robot making its debut at the recent Tokyo Toy Show was the A.M.P. (Automated Music Personality) robot. Developed through a partnership by Tiger Electronics and Japan’s Sega, the 29-inch tall bot utilizes D.B.T. (Dynamic Balancing Technology) to execute numerous dance moves in response to the output of your mp3 music player. Featuring over 62 sound effects and 49 LED light displays, the A.M.P. robot can be remote controlled to execute several types of moves including dance, track, drive, park and follow. If you’re having trouble wrapping your mind around the concept, just think of the A.M.P. as the Sony Rolly’s anthropomorphized big brother. But snagging a robo-dance partner won’t come cheap–the A.M.P. robot will go on sale for $500 starting in October here.
