Bang & Olufsen to power West SoHo Condominium in Manhattan
The first residential property in the United States to feature Bang & Olufsen audio and video products as a standard amenity in all of its units
Bang & Olufsen has partnered with The Harch Group and PHH Reality Group on The Renwick, a
modern, technologically advanced residential condominium located on an exclusive one-block street in West SoHo in Manhattan. The collaboration is significant, as The Renwick is the premier residential development to include Bang & Olufsen home entertainment systems as a standard amenity in all of its 44 units. Additionally, The Renwick is the first residential development in North America to feature the new BeoVision 8 32-inch LCD screen.
The 12-story building is designed by renowned architect Ismael Leyva. Its modern architectural form, including an all-glass exterior, reflects the same clean-lined, minimalist aesthetic of Bang & Olufsen’s
state-of-the-art and world renowned audio and video systems, making the partnership an ideal match.
“As condominium developers continue to include more and more luxury amenities in their properties, The Renwick is a revolutionary project for Bang & Olufsen in North America,” states Zean Nielsen, President of Bang & Olufsen America, Inc. “Being the first residential development in the U.S. that features Bang & Olufsen products as a standard amenity, this relationship will pave the way for future developers to seek the utmost in home entertainment systems as a fundamental element to their residential packages.”
“We are excited to partner with Bang & Olufsen on The Renwick,” stated Harry Jeremias, Principal of The Harch Group and a partner in PHH Realty Group. “By offering this home entertainment system as a standard amenity in all of our units, we have taken our commitment to provide the best possible
service and amenities to our buyers to the next level.”
The Renwick units range from 750-2,000 square feet. Each unit is pre-wired by Bang & Olufsen, giving buyers the opportunity to upgrade to any additional Bang & Olufsen products they wish. The standard Bang & Olufsen products included in each unit are as follows:
— BeoVision 8, Bang & Olufsen’s newest LCD monitor, features a unique
design and supreme versatility. Its integrated center speaker and sleek,
32-inch screen allow for superior sound performance freedom of placement
anywhere in the home. Additionally, BeoVision 8 has no glass in front of
the screen, thus it outputs more light than other flat screens. This is
particularly effective when watching television in bright ambient light.
— BeoSound 4, an audio system with CD, FM radio, and SD card
functionality, offers a unique, sloped design with a black glass panel
surface. With the simple wave of one’s hand, the panel automatically slides
back to reveal a control pad and CD loader. BeoSound 4 has a built-in
memory allowing it to store up to 200 CD titles.
— BeoLab 4000, a compact loudspeaker that delivers exceptional sound,
is flexible enough to be placed anywhere in the home, from bookshelf to
floor stands. Constructed from a single piece of aluminum, BeoLab 4000 is
an art form all its own, and is available in black, silver, dark gray,
gold, red, or blue.
“As smart, integrated technology and custom home theaters become an
increasingly important part of many American’s lifestyles, Bang & Olufsen
products are a natural fit for developers when considering specific
property features. Just as Bang & Olufsen products are known for seamless
operation and intuitive functionality, the same goes for our installation
capabilities. We have a nationwide network of dedicated custom installers
and product specialists who are trained in multi-unit installations,”
states Nielsen. “Furthermore, we are honored to be present in such a
cutting edge, modern day project as the Renwick.”
The Renwick, located at 15 Renwick Street in Manhattan’s trendy West SoHo neighborhood, also boasts a private open air sculpture garden, resident library, world class boxing gym, sky lit lap pool, sauna, home automation system with touch panel, and underground private parking with valet service. The development is scheduled to be completed in 2009.
