Our account was suspended by the hosting company because we were spamming everybody out there…. But I know how everything happened… desinformado.com and the most secure systems on earth aren’t protected from what really trigger all security breaches, the human factor.

Here how just one click put desinformado.com out for 7 hours and maybe in the spam list without even know that we were doing it:

1. Last October 25th, I subscribed to a PR News site, put all the required information and wait for the confirmation email.
2. In about 1 minute a confirmation email came from a phony PR Service, but because I was waiting for the confirmation email I took for granted that the Service look poor and told myself that don’t want to spend money designing a confirmation page, and it was my bigger mistake, it was in deep a phony email requesting to login with my new password, just that.
3. When I realized it didn’t have the logo of the Real PR News site I double check everything, too late, then took the address from the email and noticed that there weren’t any information on the site.
4. This morning spams were flowing from desinformado’s emails accounts by millions, yahoo.com sent a notification to the hosting company and the service was shut down.
5. I know it was my fault, not systems, scripts or security applications can protect us from human mistakes.
6. We checked the whole server, run scripts to determine what happened and we found that there is one address found here and in the hosting company scripts is the one that masked as the PR News Service….
7. The Mac OS X Launch Party was almost suspended for us…

If you received a mail from desinformado.con requesting money and asking you about your family, please notice that it wasn’t directly from us, we like that your families enjoy life without requesting anything from you….

We are learning, the hard way, but learning… stupidity happens.
