E! Online: Apple’s new reasons to buy

Thanks, Apple. As if we needed the new iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store to give us yet one more opportunity to make impulse buys. Here’s how it works: As long as you’re at a hot spot, you can click on the new Wi-Fi widget for your iPhone or iPod Touch and get access to Apple’s music library at the usual 99 cents per song. Apple also made a deal with Starbucks, so now as you’re picking up a mocha frappawhatever you can simultaneously buy the latest from Peter Bjorn and John, Wilco, or whoever else your local barista is rocking. See, Starbucks is pumping the music through a server just for you.
Maybe. But if you’re like us, this could lead to far too many snap downloads. Perhaps we’re thinking that because our first purchase was “Gimme More” by one Britney Spears. (via E! Online)
