Apple Products rumors on the pipeline for 2009
This year MacWorld may not be as crowded as others from the past because of Apple drop out, but it hasn’t stopped the Rumor Mill from predicting what will be launched or previewed at the most anticipated Apple related expo.
This past December the blogosphere was bombarded with dozens of product predictions that range from iWork ‘09 to the iPhone Nano, here is a small list of the hottest MacWorld ‘09 Predictions, some of them are mandatory evolutions that follow the natural development path.
iWork ‘09 going to be Cloud based Applications
Apple will be adding more features to its MobileMe Service with the integration of all iWork application, but adding iWork could mean an iPhone or iPod Touch version of iWork, something that will be perfect for editing, creating and delivering iWork documents from while on the go or showing Keynote presentation directly from your iPhone. It’s time to get a MobileMe account if iWork ‘09 comes with these features and the $100 a year is worth with iWork ‘09 alone.
New Mac Mini around the corner
The Mac Mini is like a cat, it has been killed more than 5 times and it’s still alive and rumored to be in better shape, but what I really want is a combination of a Mac Mini + AppleTV or even better a MacPro Mini, an $800 entry machine without monitor not an iMac. But let’s wait for Apple to unveil the new Mac Mini.
Bigger iPod Touch
If it’s true then Apple will enter the Tablet market with an already famous and capable device, the iPod Touch will represent to Apple twice what the iPhone is now because its future is on the gaming side and if it well positioned against the Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP, then Apple could profit twice from it, getting money from direct sales of the Bigger iPod Touch and profiting from games sold at the AppStore, this is a win-win situation for Apple. A bigger iPod Touch could pose a real threat to other mobile gaming platform, Apple could sell millions of this new devices loaded with MobileMe and iWork ‘09 while priced competitively. Gaming is the way to go for the iPod Touch and Apple has expressed its interest in transforming the Touch into a mobile gaming platform.
iPhone Nano
While I really doubt it, we never know what’s inside Steve Jobs head and this could be only possible if Apple is out to get the whole mobile market. Launching a cheaper and smaller version of the iPhone that can purchased and used at any major carriers can help Apple gain more marketshare, everybody would like to have this new iPhone for its discrete size, affordable price, same usability and features of the original iPhone and what can be the real selling point: ALL CARRIERS WELCOME! or use it WHEREVER you want. Apple maybe testing the water in Walmart with the actual iphone, but the iPhone Nano better fits Walmart economy segment.
MacBook Touch == Bigger iPod Touch

New Imac
Apple should be introducing new iMac with DisplayPort and other new technology already introduced with the unibody Macbook, don’t expect anything out of proportion here, maybe a price adjustment, more memory or HD space
AppleTV == Apple Home Media Server
AppleTV will be really really interesting when it can record your live TV, stream its content to the iPhone, acts like a media home server and something like that and this is where Apple is rumored to be taking the AppleTV, a complete new product that will become the Apple fortress in the living room
