In the recent economic meltdown with shrinking sales, lower margins and gas prices hurting our pocket, the three majors american automakers are suffering their hardest and most complicated, not so easy to solve and money losing breakdown, something that could put one of them out of the business or force them to merge in an attempt to survive while reduce their debt to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

But to solve their situation some drastic measures should be taken and one can imagine that with Steve Jobs cutting down cost, shutting off models with lower sales and reducing them to a few models and focusing into bringing innovation and style, but this could be a long string attached, take a look:

Steve will reduce the number of Ford car models, merging models from Ford (18 models), Lincoln (7 models) Mercury (6 models), Volvo (9 models) and Mazda (11 models). Steve is famous for shutting down the Newton development and focusing into the mac platform with less models and higher margins. Inventory management is one of the virtues of Apple, they reduced their bleeding company and turned it into a hardcore business.

2. Innovation
All cars produced by Ford will have the latest and most reliable technology, don’t expect the most fancy or bling bling technology, but the one all car and its owner need.

3. Price Vs Performance
The first job will be to revive the brand, you won’t see a cheaper Ford around, Steve will focus on produce less autos with the same level of efficiency, competitive priced, but with higher sale margin. The Ford brand will immediately competes with Lexus and similar packed vehicles.

4. Less Vehicles to the Dealers
Something that we will see instantly is the reduction of Ford resellers, Steve always likes to choose who sells his products and this give a sense of exclusivity, so some Ford dealers will have to pack if Steve get it to the Ford reign.

5. Style, style and more Style
Now that the numbers of vehicle models is reduced, Steve team will focus on designing the next revolutionary and innovative Car, this will break the traditional american style and will give fresh air to the ancient automaker.

6. Secrets and Secrets
We won’t ever see a future Ford model portrayed in advance in any vehicles magazine, everything will keep secret until the launch date, this move has always helped propel mac sales and you bet that this would be the way Steve would manage the auto launch.
