Copyright Board sent a warning message to Apple, problems ahead appe itunes 8 apple

This week we all knew about the plan to increase the royalties paid to songwriters and the immediate impact in the price of a single song in the iTunes Store, something that put Apple in a terminal decision, increase the price for any given song or shut down the whole music store…. Apple warned them that if the rate is increased the iTunes Store will let billions of dollars in the dust.

Itunes is the number one music seller in the United States and is becoming the driving force behind the new music movement, it can place in the hot spot any single artist or band or drop it to the underground, it is the place to be and the executives know it, but the message can’t be clearer, if not now, problems are around the corner and soon Apple will have to face it, but there is a good remedy… Apple can stop selling higher prices songs and start looking for young musicians (unsigned) that will provide fresh meat to the iTunes Store and put them into iPhone or iPod ads where millions of users listen their new music. Apple has probe itself that if a song is attatched to any of those ads it will generate millions on sales, so it is time for Apple to become some kind of music promoter, not a record label. This move alone could drive more new fans and can make the greedy music executives to rethink their failed strategy.

Apple can crush them without spending a big chunk of money, iTunes itself can sell ad space to compensate loss by dropping those higher priced songs. You bet that everybody would like to be shown at the iTunes Stores…..

Another good move for Apple could be the load of some new songs from unsigned artists into every new ipod, iphone and ipod touch sold, this could can be a spectacular move in a win-win strategy, Apple makes their devices more appealing to new fans while help advertising those new bands and singers, something that in the end will transform into more iTunes sales when fans start looking for songs and videos related stuff from those bands.

It is Apple time to play for sure and give them what they deserve… a slap in the face…..
