Sleeping with the enemy: Apple is rejecting AppStore applications
The AppStore has been a better than expected success for Apple and iPhone applications developers and a sour note for others that have seen their applications rejected from the Directory, in a move from Apple that casts for hardcore iphone developers that in any given circunstance could hit with Apple‘s guidelines.
The AppStore represents the ideal source for developers to sell to million users worldwide their applications, it drew more than 50 million downloads in the first month and it is growing faster than the iTunes Music Store, its future is bright, but if Apple doesn’t fix its guidelines and put aside its strong-hand behavior the AppStore won’t be the place to find any good application as developers jump to others sources, more confortable and easy to be with. Apple‘s action is putting its own success in danger, rivals can lure developers to their platforms with a better handling of any situation and a more flexible and transparent way to treat their most valued asset, the developers, there is not platform without developers and every else knows it. Apple should start thinking about it too.
