Oh my Moto, the company that we all admired for years, the startac, the razr, the Iridium…. duh? Yes, the same company, Motorola is accusing Apple of stealing its most important corporate secrets because Apple hired an ex-Motorola mobile-device executive, Michael Fenger.

Mr. Fenger was in charge of Motorola mobile-device business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and this year was hired by Apple he is vice president for global iPhone sales.

Motorola argues that Mr. Fenger can’t work for any hand set maker that compete directly with Motorola and that Mr. Fenger has a signed contract that stipulate it.

While we don’t see any advantage of Motorola trade secrets in Apple’s hand, because the iPhone is nothing near any Motorola phone or acts like one, Motorola is seeking monetary compensation and a barring from working for Apple.

It would be an excellent oportunity for Motorola to show us where those secrets were applied to the iPhone and if Motorola will seek an injunction against Apple mobile business because of that. If somebody steals my more important trade secrets I will suit the hell out of him/her and this time Motorola prefers to fight Mr. Fenger and not Apple. Strange.
