Help scammers have taken control of my emails
In recent days two separate events got me on guard about junk mail and scammers, one put our site out for 24 hours and the other promises to be my next nightmare.
While doing some PR jobs to promote desinformado.com to the blogosphere and get some traffics, we decided to signed in almost all social networks and some PR delivery firms, that will provide fresh information on a daily basis. I signed on the most well known PR firm and while waiting for my account confirmation I received a strange but credible email with not logo from the company and without any information at the bottom, but the email came from the same company I signed two minutes before.
I confirmed my account and in a matter of 20 minutes desinformado.com was shut down by our Internet Service Provider, because Yahoo.com complained that millions of emails traveled through their network from my account.
We began hunting down the origin of the email, tracing and tracking it, thanks god I could proved that none of those hundred thousands or million of emails were delivered by desinformado.com and the service was put on observation for some days. Uff.
But there is more, now my Apple Mail Account has changed its name to the Official Viagra Site and everytime I send or receive an email it comes from the Viagra site, damn. Why me? Associated with Viagra without even using it.
Conclusion, scammers are learning some tricks about macintosh and are using them.
