The iPhone 3G is finally launched with at price tag of $199 and a 2 or 3 years contract depending on the carrier, for some people the contractual monthly fee plus the price is too much money and the only solution is to hunt down at Ebay for cheaper first generation iPhones.

While the main advantage of the new 3G iphone is the connectivity speed, you won’t lose anything else, the new design is a little stylish, but for an affordable iPhone a lot of people won’t take the design into account and there isn’t an abysmal change in design.

Don’t expect an iphone without contract soon and if Apple decided to go ahead, the penalty will be too high, so a second hand first generation iPhone will provide the same applications, affordable price and peace of mind.
