Kensington Announces the First Docking Station for MacBook Computers via USB

Kensington today announced the availability of the public beta version of a new Mac driver for its 2008 CES Innovation Award-winning sd200v Notebook Docking Station with Video. This new driver enables the sd200v Notebook Docking Station with Video to be compatible with MacBook computers running Mac OS® X v10.4.11 or later. Mac users can download this new driver from www.software.kensington.com at no extra cost.
This new Mac driver makes Kensington’s sd200v the first docking station with video to give MacBook users instant access to an external VGA display, keyboard, mouse or up to 5 USB peripherals over one single USB 2.0 connection. Kensington’s use of DualView technology lets Mac users easily expand their work area across their notebook screen and an external monitor. An easy-access front-panel button instantly enables multi-monitor computing.
“We’re proud to give Mac users this best of both worlds solution – from mobility outside the home to higher comfort and productivity within it,” said Frederic Frappereau, Global Product Manager, Kensington. “A good notebook provides mobile users with just what they need away from home, while our sd200v Notebook Docking Station with Video gives them all the functionality of the desktop when they want it, in a simple and easy to use fashion. They no longer need to waste time plugging in multiple devices or dealing with complicated monitor setup procedures.
The Kensington sd200v Notebook Docking Station with Video is the ideal companion to notebooks that have limited USB ports, such as the recently announced MacBook Air™.
