Here the complete list of concept cars on demonstration in the LA Autoshow 2007, from November 16-25, have a quick glance of what to expect in the near future about car design and the technology that will make them more affordable and enjoyable….

Audi Cross Cabriolet Quattro
Audi Cross Cabriolet Quattro opens up a new car segment with this Concept. It is a 2-door, 4-seater that combines the typical Audi dynamics of a soft top convertible with the all-round quality of a full-fledged SUV.

Buick Riviera
Reviving a legendary name, Buick’s Riviera concept coupe was developed with global design input by the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC) in China has been engineered to accommodate a new hybrid powertrain that will go into production in 2008. Features include carbon fiber body panels, gullwing doors and 21-inch 10-spoke forged aluminum wheels. The interior features a theme of calm simplicity with electronic shifter pads replacing the traditional transmission shifter and controls are kept to a minimum to avoid driver distraction.

Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell
As part of a market test, GM has developed a real-world vehicle with fuel cell propulsion technology. The Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell is fully functional, carrying up to four occupants and gear and it is engineered to reach a top speed of 100 mph. The Equinox Fuel Cell has been crash-tested and is designed to meet all applicable 2007 U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

KIA KND-4
Kia’s all-new KND-4 concept crossover hints at the increasingly sophisticated styling and advanced technologies that will appear in future Kias. KND-4 is powered by a 2.2-litre VGT diesel engine driving all four 20-inch wheels. Designed to seat four people, the KND-4′s futuristic interior features floor, dashboard and door trim panels in metallic finish, indirect lighting, Bluetooth compatibility and a next generation AMOLED (Active-Matrix, Organic Light Emitting Diode) display screen which features an ultra-thin screen, ultra-wide viewing angle and plays Blu-ray DVDs.

Mercedes S400 Hybrid
Mercedes has several hybrid vehicles in the pipeline, and the S400 hybrid concept debuting at the Los Angeles auto Show is an advance look at a 2009 model. The S400 will be a technically sophisticated ‘mild’ hybrid utilizing lithium instead of nickel metal hydride batteries. In addition to a 20-horsepower electric motor, the 275-horsepower gasoline V-6 has a start/stop feature that should help the S400 achieve both 0 to 60 mp.

Mitsubishi Concept-cX
The Concept-cX is a model of a running concept from the Frankfurt Auto Show that demonstrates Mitsubishi Motors styling vision of small SUVs. With features like the newly developed 1.8-liter clean diesel engine mated to a Twin Clutch SST (Sportronic Shift Transmission), the Concept-cX achieves high levels of road and environmental performance. The Mitsubishi Concept-cX is the proposal for the kind of off-roader that only Mitsubishi could create.

Porsche Cayenne Hybrid
The Porsche Cayenne Hybrid, to be launched at the end of the decade, will cut fuel consumption about 15 percent while retaining its driving dynamics. The full-hybrid system, which will use a gasoline internal-combustion engine and an electric motor that will operate independently or jointly, is being developed with Volkswagen Group.

Volkswagen space up! blue
Volkswagen debuted the space up! blue concept car, the first car in the world with high-temperature fuel cell. The four roof windows is reminiscent of the legendary Samba Bus and can drive up to 65 miles using battery.

Volvo ReCharge
Volvo’s ReCharge Concept is a plug-in hybrid with individual electric wheel motors and batteries that can be recharged via a regular electrical outlet for maximum environmental benefit. Recharging allows the car to be driven about 100 kilometres on battery power alone before the car’s four-cylinder Flexifuel engine is needed to power the car and recharge the battery. The ReCharge Concept has been developed at the Volvo Monitoring and Concept Center (VMCC), the Volvo Car Corporation’s think-tank in Camarillo, California.
